Online map portal to launch mobile services

NEW DELHI: Online maps portal mapmyindia.com will soon launch location based services on mobile phone through various service providers. Rakesh Verma, MD, CE Infosystems which launched the 2007 version of its online maps portal mapmyindia.com here said "Along with its online customers, mobile users too can locate places across India". The website's new version uses the 2.0 web platform that provides a host of features including e-location, using which subscribers can save locations online to trace approach routes to them. "The new version brings online mapping closer to consumer expectations. We want to make the website accessible and practical," said Verma. The website can be accessed on GPRS enabled mobile phones. "We are talking to cellular service providers and are soon going to launch a service through them," informed Verma.
