NAVTEQ Releases Voice Data for Netherlands

CHICAGO, March 13 -- NAVTEQ (NYSE: NVT), a leading global provider of digital map data for vehicle navigation and location-based solutions, announces the availability of phonetic transcriptions for its Netherlands map database. Because NAVTEQ(R) voice data, is developed using local knowledge of street, administrative and destination names, applications utilizing NAVTEQ voice phonemes can increase the functionality of voice-enabled navigation systems by reducing recognition complexities.

NAVTEQ voice-enabled map data includes transcriptions for street names, administrative areas and named places. The data transcriptions can be used with both Automated Speech Recognition or Text-to-Speech technology.

NAVTEQ voice-enabled map data is now available in seven Western Europe countries: Spain, France, Austria, United Kingdom, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands.
