Location Based Services and Social Networks

Where in the mesh am I? With Kiyon Location Based Services and Search (LBS) capabilities, it won’t be long before you’ll not only be able to answer that with a push of a button but also answer what else (and who else in my social network) is around me, how do I get there, and how do I contact it (or them). From safety and security applications such as knowing where your kids are to entertainment and commerce such as multi-media podcasting and nearest restaurant details, LBS running over Kiyon’s mesh networks will enable a host of geographically relevant social networking applications. Map your location or the location of what you’re tracking onto a graphic user interface. Get IM or SMS messages and alerts based on your interests to what’s around you. Search for other people, places and things based on their podcasted messages that identify overlapping interests. Create physical and virtual community networks. The possibilities for LBS are there in the mesh.
