Motorola and Verizon Wireless Announce the MOTO Q

Motorola, Inc. is introducing the Moto Q availability starting on 31 May 2006. The Moto Q will be initially exclusively available through Verizon Wireless.

The Moto Q’s style and phone-first mantra is built upon the design created by the Motorola RAZR, a best-selling clamshell handset. The Moto Q runs Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 software and combines phone, personal productivity capabilities, enterprise connectivity and entertainment in a thin form factor.

This version of the Moto Q connects to CDMA EV-DO through Verizon Wireless’ BroadbandAccess network. Other features of the Moto Q from Verizon Wireless include:


Integrated Bluetooth 1.2 wireless technology for communicating with compatible headsets, car kits and certain other devices equipped with Bluetooth technology;

OTA (over-the-air) wireless Sync for anytime connectivity with e-mail, calendar and contacts synchronization

Very thin profile, measuring only 11.5mm, and including a familiar thumbwheel to enhance the navigation experience

Standard desktop document views supported including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat

Supports audio and video formats (mp3, WMV, WMA)

The Moto Q offers a portfolio of entertainment capabilities ranging from stereo music and video playback to Web browsing and instant messaging.

Customers may purchase the Moto Q for US$199.99 after a US$100 instant credit when purchased with a qualified Verizon Wireless voice and data plan and two-year customer agreement.
