Qualcomm demonstrates low cost A-GPS tracker reference design

At CTIA wireless last week Qualcomm demonstrated inGEO, a reference design that provides a complete, end-to-end technology solution for non-cell phone personal location devices and services.
This reference design integrates assisted GPS positioning via Qualcomm gpsOne technology and associated control-server technology for accurate, real-time tracking and seamless integration into existing CDMA carrier networks. The device can also integrate a microphone and a speaker to enable two ways communications. The extended battery life can power the device for over 60 days on a single charge.
InGeo is based on the MSM6125™ chipset solution and is supported by location services, including the Qualcomm QPoint solution.
InGeo is well adapted for child and elder safety or pet and asset tracking markets. According to Qualcomm this device could be sold for under US$100. It is currently available to Qualcomm licensees interested in entering the wireless location market.
