location based services

Google has a description of their new real estate search features on the Google Blog. If you do a search for “homes in San Francisco” you get a small box as part of the results that prompts you to search for listings. The listings results page looks as follows:
This follows the recent trend of Google providing more location based services with its own Maps API. I have to wonder if opening up the Maps API for free was a way to let other companies prove out interesting uses for the service so that Google could avoid the trial and error on their own.
All of the listings for what I’ll call GRealEstate are from various sources like the NY Times and Coldwell Banker. This means that the coverage for GRE
