Urban Explorer develops web-based parcel-level GIS (Geographic Information system) tools that can be used to inform land use, economic development and urban design policy decisions. The firm is a pioneer in server-driven Macromedia Flash™-based GIS tools and has worked with GeoGraphs Corporation to co-develop the gĂ©oflash Explorer web GIS system and the CensusTrax National Census Web GIS service.

Urban Explorer's interactive map-based tools are ideal for City Planners, Urban Designers, Economic Development Professionals, community-based and non-profit groups. These GIS tools are especially well-suited for collaborative, real-time decision-making, as assumptions can be quickly tested via the user-friendly map-based interface. Also, given that the tools are web-based, individual stakeholders can continuously test assumptions.

Recognizing that places and communities differ, Urban Explorer works closely with clients to create innovative solutions that work for unique needs. What's more, Urban Explorer staff's experience working for cities, non-profits and corporate firms enables us to understand the roles and perspectives of the many stakeholders who shape and make a place.
