Nokia Launches New Mobile Search Version

Nokia (News - Alert), provider of mobile communications and devices has announced an expanded version of their Mobile Search software, a free distributed software for their high-performance Nokia Nseries multimedia computers and other such devices based on their S60 platform. The search will allow users to fast-track directly to desired contact numbers, with just one click.


Nokia's mobile search application is one of its most popular features-- allowing people to search the contents of their system rapidly and with ease. The new version will provide users across Europe with local search capabilities from their mobile phones.

Through the use of 'tie-ups' with local agencies and sites like Fonecta and Eniro in Finland and Sweeden, Yell.com in UK as well as in Denmark, France, Italy, Norway and Spain and tie-ups with companies like Findexa, Page Jaunes, TPI PaginasAmarillas.es and Seat Pagine Gialle, the new search capabilities are made possible.According to a recent news release," Once Mobile Search has found the required destination, this clever application directs the user to the right location with the aid of a digital map with dynamic panning and zooming, where maps are available."

Users of mobile search in France and Sweden will also have the ability to locate their friends and family with an added feature-- people search-- currently available in just these countries.

Nokia devices capable of doing these searches include: Nokia N70, Nokia N71, Nokia N80, Nokia N90, Nokia 6630, Nokia 6620, Nokia 6670, Nokia 6680, Nokia 6681, Nokia 6682, Nokia 7610, Nokia 6260 and Nokia 3230.
