We live in a mobile world and as each day goes by more and more application come into play.

For example, Verizon Wireless announced the availability of Field Force Manager, a comprehensive mobile resource management tool that enhances information and process flow between field workers and the office. By using a Location Based Services-enabled (LBS) handset, a handset application, and a Web portal, Field Force Manager is perfect for small and medium-sized businesses that require a simple, out-of-the-box solution to help streamline field operations.

The Field Force Manager Web-based application allows the business office to map the location of field workers, jobs and other activities in near real- time, schedule and dispatch jobs and receive fleet, job and worker reports. Additionally, the application allows field workers to submit timecards, as well as customer and job data back to the business office and get turn-by-turn driving directions to new jobs right from their wireless device.

The launch of the Verizon Wireless Field Force Manager solution is part of Verizon Wireless' suite of advanced offerings for business customers. The solution is ideal for customers in vertical markets with mobile workers including the services and repair, distribution, transportation, construction, health care and utilities & telecom industries.

Field Force Manager is available from Verizon Wireless in two packages: Basic for $29.99 that includes worker location and tracking, simple job dispatch, and text-based driving directions; and Advanced for $49.99, which includes all the Basic features plus workflow management and audible turn-by-turn driving directions. Both packages include the handset application and Web portal access, deployment assistance, customer training, and unlimited data transport. Customers must also have a Verizon Wireless calling plan.

Field Force Manager is available on the Motorola V325, a Get It Now-enabled flip phone, offering Verizon Wireless business customers the latest in technology and style. Field Force Manager joins a host of productivity tools available in Get It Now on the Motorola v325, inclusive of VZ Navigator, which gives customers an array of Location Based Services (LBS) options, including mapping, audible turn-by-turn navigation and the ability to find over 14 million points of interest directly from the handset. The Motorola V325 is available for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.
