Sybase iAnywhere Announces General Availability of Avantgo Travel Guide

DUBLIN, Calif., March 21 -- iAnywhere, a subsidiary of Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY), today announced the general availability of the AvantGo Travel Guide, a mobile companion for subscribers of its popular AvantGo(R) mobile Internet service. The Travel Guide is available as an additional "tab" within the AvantGo application, enabling users to quickly and easily access flight itineraries, weather, directions, maps and city guides.

The Travel Guide, sponsored by Cadillac, brings together access to user account information from top travel partners including Expedia Corporate Travel, Northwest Airlines, Sabre Virtually There, Travelocity Business and United Airlines. Since the beta was announced last year, United Airlines has been added to the travel partner lineup, and added features include a currency conversion tool, 100 additional city guides, and 1000 additional metro areas for weather forecasts.

"We are committed to delivering innovative service to our customers," said Kenneth Feldman, vice president-Loyalty and e-Commerce, United Airlines. "Offering a United channel on the AvantGo mobile Internet service gives our customers a dynamic way to access not only flight information, but also real- time travel information, further enhancing their overall travel experience." "The AvantGo Travel Guide further demonstrates our dedication to offering applications that will enable business professionals to have 'always available' access to important information," said Neil Versen, senior director of AvantGo at iAnywhere. "Thirty percent of AvantGo's users travel seven or more times a year. This makes the Travel Guide a doubly important feature for us to offer to our subscribers, enabling them access crucial information to them anywhere and anytime, free of charge."
