Garmin to focus more on pre-programmed SD cards?
Garmin to focus more on pre-programmed SD cards?
Garmin announced their fourth quarter 2005 earnings today, and hidden away in the PDF was this statement:
"...new outdoor products with high sensitivity GPS receivers and pre-programmed mapping data cards will drive additional growth in this segment during 2006."
So maybe the release earlier this week of Garmin City Select Mexico, which is available only on SD and micro-SD cards, signals the start of a trend. Does this leave many of us with legacy devices? Does this make it harder for people to pirate Garmin software? I don't have answers to those questions. Any readers care to chime in?
