GeoSpatialTraining.com - Google Maps For Your Apps!

This course is designed to enable you to take advantage of Google Maps for your website. You will learn how to create maps, add map controls for user interactions (zooming, and panning), programmatically alter the map extent, add points of interest to the map, add custom icons, geocode addresses on the fly, read addresses from a database or XML file, and display aerial photography.

Intended Audience
This course is designed for all levels.
Required Software
Internet Browser (recommend Microsoft Internet Explorer 6.0.

Introduction to Google Maps
The Google Maps API
(GMap Object, Adding Navigation Controls (zoom, pan, aerial photos), Add Points of Interest (GPoint, and GMarker), Add Custom Icons, Read Addresses from Database or XML files

Geocoding Addresses
Geocode through Google Maps API, Third Party Geocoding Web Services (ESRI, TeleAtlas, etc), Free Third Party Geocoding Services

Reading Data from External Sources (databases, XML files)
Reading Multiple Addresses from Database, XML HttpRequest Object

New Skills Acquired
