Send & share location-based text, audio & images from mobile phones

location based services

Socialight Mobile is a mobile social platform that lets people create, share and discover location-based media. Socialight already offers a web based platform for users to tag thousands of locations and make personal connections centered on “geo-tagged” real-world places. Now the platform has been upgraded so that a majority of mobile phone users worldwide can post, exchange and discover location-based text, audio and images using their cell phones.
For example, users can import Flickr photo GeoRSS feeds and share their images at the exact places they took them. Users of MySpace and Google Blogger can embed a Socialight “widget” to liven up their pages with maps of recent Sticky Notes.
Additional functionality in this launch includes a mobile web (WAP) site and a text messaging interface that lets anyone with a cell phone use Socialight, including interactive features like rating, commenting, favoriting, private messaging and blog-style follow-up posting.
Currently there are two ways of using Socialight Mobile:
1) Text Messaging (SMS)Socialight’s Text Messaging interface lets you text your location, your searches and your new Stickies via text message or email from your mobile phone
2) Mobile Web (WAP)Socialight can be accessed from a mobile WAP browser at socialight.com/m
They are also in the process of testing a mobile application which would be released soon and allow you to perform location based services right from the software.
