GPS loves GSM :)

location based services

Some news about the whole GPS stuff, this thing is coming faster than you could imagine. In our Team we are using/talking/working with the JSR179 specs, you know, the location API used by Sun for the Java enabled mobile phones integrating a GPS chip+antenna.
Motorola with their A1000 and E1000 started the whole thing with A-GPS, where A stands for Assisted, then the A780. Siemens brought us the SXG75 :) And now, Samsung comes with the Helio series, featuring GPS and location based services (LBS).Today you can use LBS with your Java/Bluetooth enabled mobile phone and an external Bluetooth receiver, only if JSR82 is supported on it. Tomorrow, no more JSR82 hassle, but a new one: JSR179 :)
