location based services
Redknee says that an unnamed, top tier Western European wireless carrier has selected its Unified Profile Server (UPS) to provide user privacy and preference management capabilities to its mobile and broadband subscribers. Redknee UPS enables subscribers to control what information third-party applications or other subscribers are able to query or view.
Preference management is an essential capability necessary for user confidence when adopting privacy-sensitive services such as advertising, Location-Based Services (LBS) and personalized broadband services. The Redknee UPS provides complete opt-in and opt-out capabilities as well as a comprehensive set of group management functionalities. The Redknee UPS solution integrates into the carrier?s existing Service Delivery Platform (SDP) to provide a common privacy management functionality for Fixed-Mobile Convergence (FMC).
"We are pleased that a leading carrier in Western Europe has chosen the Redknee Unified Profile Server to address their subscriber privacy requirements," said Lucas Skoczkowski, CEO of Redknee. "This contract demonstrates Redknee?s leadership in delivering increasingly personalized service delivery in convergent networks."
