ER Mapper Adds Imagery to Google Earth - Geospatial Solutions

Terabytes of imagery served by ER Mapper's Image Web Server can now be accessed by the Google Earth Viewer. Image Web Server is an enterprise image-delivery and integration resource that serves large volumes of image data via a Local Area Network or the Internet. An example of integration between Image Web Server and Google Earth is available at www.earthetc.com/kml/.

The demonstration highlights Image Web Server's ability to add Landsat mosaic imagery for the continent of Australia to the Google Earth viewer. Imagery is from 1972, 1980, 1989, 2000, and 2004. Users can layer the images over one another, and using the transparency slider in Google Earth, they can see the changes that have occurred in the Australian environment throughout the last 30 years.
