Competitive Analysis of Sony Ericsson Mobile

India : The recently launched W900i by Sony Ericsson is an extremely stylish 3G mobile phone with GPRS ( General Packet Radio Service ) support. You have the benefit of being connected to the network round the clock and are billed for the amount of data transferred, and not for the time online.
According to the recent market research report called” Competitive Analysis of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communication” published by RNCOS, about 13.7million units were shipped in the 3rd quarter of 2005, which meant an increase of 30%, from 10.8million of shipments in the same quarter of 2004.
Industry experts believe that the increase in sales was due to the array of higher-end products from the company’s workshop.
The report further elaborates that to regain their lost place in the market due to increased competition, cellular phone manufacturers Nokia communications and Motorola Cellular have come up with more advanced all-in-one handsets.
Nokia's N91 and Motorola’s SLVR V8 are both more personalized and professional gadgets with fervor, comparable to Sony Ericsson. This launch has increased the rivalry between the three key players of the Quad-band handset segment.
The Sony Ericsson’s W900i has an internal tri-band antenna which makes it usable around the world, including Europe, Africa, Asia, and the Americas. The latest WAP 2.0 mobile Internet technology enables the user to access information directly from the web to the handset.
