Tele Atlas Showcases Personal Navigation and Location-Based Applications at CES

location based services

Las Vegas, CES – January 8, 2007 – Tele Atlas (FSE: TA6, EUNV: TA), a leading global provider of digital maps and dynamic content for navigation and location based solutions, is teaming with its industry-leading partners at the 2007 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas this week to demonstrate a range of innovative location-based services (LBS) and personal navigation (PNAV) applications that are designed to empower consumers with comprehensive location-sensitive data and content-rich maps.
“Consumers today seek dynamic maps that they can access from anywhere — in their cars, on their computers, via their mobile phones and other handheld personal devices. Increasingly, they’re demanding features beyond simple navigation that help them find more places, people, products and services they’re seeking along the way,” said Joy Morel, Tele Atlas Consumer Markets Director. “PNAV is one of the fastest growing ‘must-have’ technologies for consumers, as well as for the consumer electronics manufacturers and wireless carriers focused on developing innovative applications to serve this growing market.”
At CES in booth #9841 in Central Hall, Tele Atlas and its leading navigation industry partners are demonstrating a range of consumer navigation and location-based applications including Centrality Communications, Cobra Electronics, Dash Navigation, Mio Technology, MyGuide, TeleNav and TomTom.
The booth will also showcase leading devices from Destinator Technologies, HP, Ingram Micro, Intellitrax, Lectronix, Malata, Navman, NVIDIA, Pharos, Pioneer, Polaroid, Supa Technology and Nav N Go, TeleType and Ubitrotech. Additionally, Tele Atlas’ innovative programs and offerings will be featured, including: DeveloperLink(SM), which gives Internet, mobile and other next-generation application developers access to technology, business tools, and services designed to help reduce their time to market and increase their potential for success; and Map Insight, the industry’s pioneering map-based online system for collecting and electronically processing map feedback from end users.
Finally, CES attendees are invited to visit the Tele Atlas booth to view demonstrations and participate in the selection of the Tele Atlas Attendee Choice Awards (see separate press release “Tele Atlas Announces ‘Attendee Choice Awards’ at CES” for details).
