LOC-AIDs objective in hosting the game is to showcase our creative application for Location Based Services (LBS) and, more importantly, to explode the notion that LBS is just for navigation or family/friend finders, said Isaias Sudit, CEO of LOC-AID. The Dash for Cash event leverages our Marketing ACE (Application Creation Engine) platform to build and deliver a location-aware mobile marketing campaign with a treasure hunt theme. The platform is being offered to companies and carriers to create location-aware mobile marketing campaigns such as location-based promotions, scavenger hunts or point-to-point chases. The game will also make use of all the rich features of the LG enV phone including pictures, video, sound and text. Industry leaders LG Electronics, QUALCOMM, Intrado and NAVTEQ have provided support for the LOC-AID event, showcasing the possibilities LBS provides wireless end-users. Additionally, LG will have an independent promotion for the Dash for Cash event. They will be providing the top ten finalists with the LG enV phones for the second stage of the game that will be played within the city of Orlando. The finalist will get a chance to use all the rich media capabilities of the game, as well as the advanced Assisted GPS (A-GPS) features of the phone, enabled by QUALCOMMs integrated gpsOne technology. We are excited to be part of the unique and interactive event at CTIA, said Jon Maron, senior director of marketing for LG Electronics MobileComm U.S.A., Inc. Participants will be able to take advantage of the enVs QWERTY keypad and large clear screen to help them win the big prize. This device has many sophisticated features and we look forward to seeing how the Dash for Cash game brings out its more playful side through the fun, easy-to-use multimedia-oriented entertainment features. LBS applications and services have significantly evolved over the past few years, in part due to the dedication and creativity that companies such as LOC-AID, Intrado, NAVTEQ and LG have demonstrated in the largely untapped LBS field, said Mitch Oliver, vice president of solutions and marketing for QUALCOMM Internet Services, location technology provider for Dash for Cash. As the LBS user experience grows richer with the availability of new tools, services and applications, we expect end users to realize the reliability and potential that LBS can provide them as technologies continue to progress.NAVTEQ, longtime LBS innovator and industry leader, anchors the co-sponsor list.
